Pavement sealing has begun on K-51 in Morton County from Rolla to Richfield. This work will then continue on K-27 from Richfield to the Morton/Stanton County line. The chip seal follows a surface recycle project earlier this year and is designed to prolong the life of the pavement.

During construction, traffic will be limited to one lane through the work zone, guided by a pilot car. Drivers can expect delays of 15 minutes or less. The Kansas DOT urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down when approaching a work zone and be prepared to stop.

KDOT expects work on this project to be completed by the end of July, depending on weather.
