Olmstead Will Return to Bee Jay Bench in 2020

LIBERAL BEE JAYS ANNOUNCE RETURN OF HEAD COACH FOR THE 2020 SEASON

September 12, 2019 –The Liberal Bee Jays are pleased to announce Eric Olmstead will return as the head coach for the 2020 season. This will be Olmstead’s second year as head coach. He led the Bee Jays to an inaugural KCLB league title in 2019 and a spot in the NBC World Series Championship week.The team ended the year with a 29-14record.Olmstead is also the head coach of the Liberal High School baseball team and is the winningest coach in LHS history. He was named the Western Athletic Coach of the Year after the Redskins won the 2017 WAC title.In 2015, Olmstead led the team to the Kansas regional championship and a berth at the State Tournament-only the second time in school history. Coach Olmstead played collegiate baseball at Huron University in South Dakota, graduating in 1997 and has developed many talented student-athletes in Liberalsince 1998.CoachEricOlmstead commented, “Iam happy to be back for another season with the Liberal Bee Jays.
