LIBERAL, Kan. (WIBW) – A man has died after he was injured Wednesday morning in an all-terrain vehicle crash in Seward County in southwest Kansas, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 10:36 a.m. Wednesday in the 1800 block of Frontage Road in Liberal. The location was just north of the Cosmetology Building near Seward County Community College.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a Polaris ultra-terrain vehicle was traveling north on a campus road and turned the corner to travel east. The patrol said that as the driver turned the corner and accelerated, the occupant in the bed of the Polaris lost his balance and fell out of the vehicle.

The passenger, Jacob G. Still, 29, of Tyrone, Okla., was transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, where he later died. The patrol said Still wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the UTV, Tucker J. Smith, 26, of Kismet, and another passenger, Breckin W. Buttry, 20, of Liberal, were reported to be uninjured. The patrol said neither Smith nor Buttry was wearing a seat belt.
