During the early afternoon hours of Friday, December 15th, a suspicious container was reported by an employee at Southwest Medical Center. The container was located outdoors on the Northeast side of the campus.
Local law enforcement were quick to respond to the situation and call upon further assistance from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Following standard safety protocols, Southwest Medical Center had a partial relocation of staff and services in the immediate area.
Upon arrival, Kansas Highway Patrol found the suspicious container did not contain harmful material and the scene was cleared Friday evening.
The team at Southwest Medical Center is thankful for the assistance of all law enforcement personnel involved in resolving the situation and maintaining the safety of patients and staff members.
