Yanique Andrea Walters-Lawrence, age 37, died Tuesday, March 31, 2020, in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born June 17, 1982 in St. Andrew, Jamaica, the daughter of Knockley Walters and Vilma Jefferson.

She graduated from Westwood High School in 1999 and Shortwood Teachers College in 2002. In 2004 she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Technology from the university of Technology in Jamaica. A Master of Science Degree was awarded to her in Curriculum and Instruction by the Florida International University, 2007. She then earned her PhD from South West College in Kansas.
Yanique was an assistant principle at Liberal High School.

She married Devon Q. Lawrence on August 1, 2019 in St. Ann Jamaica.

Yanique loved all genre of music, dancing and singing at church. Her favorite color is blue. She also was a great cook. She had the unique talents of being a magnet to children and was always generous in focusing on them. She was Hardworking and passionate for learning, always studying new topics. She Loved to travel and was always optimistic and outspoken

A Loving Caring Wife to Her Husband Devon and her newborn daughter Devonique, both survive her.
Her family meant everything to her, she is survived by her parents.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 22, 2020 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM & Thursday, April 22, 2020, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Friday April 24, 2020 at 2:00 PM.
Attendance at services will follow CDC guideline’s and State requirements restricting gathering size at Visitation to only 10 people allowed into the viewing at a time and limited to 10 family members for the Funeral Service. This is for safety and the best interest everyone’s health; we encourage use of social media to offer condolences and support to the family in lieu of attending.
