Wilmer Jess Perry

Wilmer Jess Perry, age 94, died Friday, February 25, 2011 at Pioneer Manor in Hugoton, Kansas. He was born November 26, 1916 in Stevens County, Kansas, the son of Jesse Norton and Birtha Ann (Gore) Perry.
Wilmer, a farmer, was a lifelong resident of Stevens County. He graduated 8th grade from Evergreen School in Stevens County. On September 8, 1940, Wilmer married Isabel Mae Higgins in Guymon, Oklahoma. He served on the Hugoton Cemetery Board, and was a County Trustee. He was also a member of the Rolla United Methodist Church, and the Gas Capital Promenaders Square Dancing Club. Wilmer enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family, working with his animals, and card games.
Survivors include four sons, Wilmer C. Perry and wife LaDonna, Donald Perry and wife Paula, Steve Perry and wife Cynda all of Hugoton, Kansas, Robert Perry and wife Marjorie of Taos, New Mexico; two daughters, Donna Taylor and husband Jack of Kahola Lake, Kansas, Patricia Kleffman of Hugoton, Kansas; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Wilmer is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Isabel; son, Larry Leroy Perry; granddaughter, Katrina Kay Kleffman; great granddaughter, Anna Belle; four brothers, Frank Perry, Roy Perry, Homer Perry, Robert Perry; and two sisters, June Clinesmith, and Ruby Perry.
Visitation: 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Garnand Funeral Home in Hugoton, Kansas.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Monday, February 28, 2011 at the First Church of God in Hugoton with Pastor Lanny Bollacker officiating.
Interment: Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton, Kansas.
