William James McLaughlin, 39, of Liberal, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at his home.
He was born on May 12, 1983 to William and Sharon (Hicks) McLaughlin at Amarillo, TX.
On July 15, 2017 James married Stephanie Akins at Liberal, KS.
He attended school at Randall High in Amarillo, TX. James enlisted into the US Marine Corps in 1999 at Phoenix, AZ, serving four years and receiving an Honorable Discharge. While serving as a US Marine he earned his Sharpshooter Star and was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO where he received training in Heavy Equipment Repair. James was currently employed by the Seward County Road & Bridge Dept. working as a Road Grade Operator. James loved all things related to motorcycles and was a former member of Top of Texas Dirt Rider’s Association. He also enjoyed many other activities including hunting, fishing, camping, and taking care of his Great Danes. James was a “project guy’ with multiple projects going on at the same time. James also had a passion for tattooing and he was a die hard Denver Bronco & Dallas Cowboys fan, he never wanted to miss a game on TV. Most of all, he was a loving husband and father; his family and his kids was his world.
James is survived by his loving wife Stephanie, Son, William “Nate” Nathaniel McLaughlin of Yukon, OK; Three Daughters, Aubrey McLaughlin of Amarillo, TX, Samantha McLaughlin of Amarillo, TX, Camron McLaughlin of Lubbock, TX; Stepson, Jason Wilson of Liberal, KS; Stepdaughter, Nevaeh Wilson of Liberal, KS; Father, Bill McLaughlin of Liberal, KS; Two Sisters, Michelle McLaughlin of Sherman, TX, Tia Haseloff of Muleshoe, TX; Mother In Law, LeAnn Akins of Liberal, KS; Father In Law, Stephen Akins of Neosho, MO; and several good friends.
He was preceded in death by Mother, Sharon Kay McLaughlin and both sets of grandparents.
Cremation has been entrusted to Miller Mortuary.
A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 am Saturday October, 29, 2022 at the Friends Church in Liberal.
