William Edward “Ed” Pittman

William Edward “Ed” Pittman, 72, died Tuesday, December 18, 2018, in Amarillo, Texas.

He was born to James William “Bill” Pittman and Virginia (McBroom) Pittman in Liberal. He was a 1964 graduate of Liberal High School and a 1968 graduate of the University of Arkansas. He served in the US Army in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971 before returning to Liberal to join his father in agribusiness.

He was active in St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and in the Liberal Rotary Club.

He was preceded in death by parents, and his first wife of 40 years, Gloria (Good) Pittman.

He is survived by his second wife of six years, Deanne Alexander of Amarillo , TX

1 son, James Earl “Jim” Pittman and his wife Jennifer Liberal, KS

1 Daughter, Julie Toon and her husband Scott Wichita, KS

2 step sons, Brad Alexander Canyon, TX

Jeff Alexander and his wife Jessica Canyon, TX

1 Brother, John Pittman and his wife Tracy Roseville, CA

12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 nieces and one nephew.

Memorial Services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, January 5, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church, 1551 N Western Ave. in Liberal, with Deacon Jeff Mitchell presiding. Inurnment will follow at Liberal Cemetery.

Our family offers a special “Thank You” to the Ussery-Roan Texas Veteran’s Home and Open Heart Hospice for the care given to Ed. In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, in care of the Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
