William Earl Hoskins

William Earl Hoskins was born March 24, 1919, at home in Cimarron County, Oklahoma, to J.W. and Ora Belle (Crismon) Hoskins. He passed away at the Morton County Care Center on February 28, 2019, at the age of 99.

Earl graduated from Texhoma High School in 1937. In August of 1938, he married his high school sweetheart, Mildred Jones. They were married 53 years. Mildred passed away in March 1992.

Earl and Mildred had four children: Carol Ann of Elkhart, Kansas, Judy Lucille of Pratt, Kansas, Eva LaNell of Red River, New Mexico, and James Earl of Sapula, Oklahoma.

Earl was a farmer, raised cattle, and custom harvester most of his life. After he retired from the farming business, he built many wood items for craft shows, and also went into the Tater Twister business.

In February 1993, he married Patricia Worthington. This marriage extended his family, Vicki of Sapula, Oklahoma, Patricia (Dell) of Elkhart, Kansas, and Kelli of Elkhart, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred; infant son, Allen Earl; sisters, Lucille Jones and Nila Belle Nusser; and wife, Pat.

He is survived by daughters, Carol (Don) Kissell, Judy (Gary) Applegarth, LaNell (Keith) Hall, and son, Jim (Vicki) Hoskins; stepdaughters, Patricia (Ronnie) Anderson, Vicki (Jim) Hoskins, and Kelli (Pete) Orth; ten grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren; including many nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life will be March 23, 2019, at 2:00 PM at the First Christian Church in Elkhart, Kansas. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Texhoma Cemetery. Memorials may be given, in memory of Earl Hoskins, to Morton County Care Center in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
