William “Bill” Helm

William “Bill” Helm 85, died December 21, 2011 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS

He was born Oct. 1, 1926 in Childress, TX the son of John N. and LaVada (Monroe) Helm.
He is a 1944 graduate of Estelline High School in Estelline, TX. He moved to Liberal In 1946.

He was employed by Centel from 1946 and retired in 1990 as a District Superintendent.

He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, Noon Kiwanis, Pancake Day Board of Directors.

He enjoyed his hobbies of collecting Advertising Mechanical Pencils, Electrical Insulators, Remodeling houses and Photography.

He served in the US Navy during WWII from 1944-1946.

On March 18, 1930 he married Myrtle June Hickey in White Settlement, TX. She survives.

2 Daughters Radeana Pruitt and husband James Muskogee, OK
Tamera Potts and husband Rick Liberal, KS

1 Brother Jack Helm and wife Billie Ft. Worth, TX

1 Sister Ruby Smallwood Liberal, KS

4 Grandchildren Lori Hatch, John Pruitt, Anna Potts and Kyle Potts.
5 Great Grandchildren Emma Hatch, Ian Hatch, Kylie Pruitt, Macee Pruitt and Addison Pruitt

Preceded in death by his parents, one son John William Helm, brothers George Helm, Ralph Helm. John N. Helm Jr., Bobby Ray Helm and Leon Helm.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm Friday at Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Moff presiding. A private burial will be held at Liberal Cemetery.

Visitation time will be 1 – 8pm Thursday and 9-11am Friday at Brenneman Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers and plants memorial contributions can be made to Fellowship Baptist Church Bus Ministry in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
