MEADE – Waunita M. Frost, age 85, passed away late Sunday evening, September 17,2023, at the Lone Tree Retirement Center, Meade, Kansas.

She was born June 21, 1938, at Kaw City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Olland and Dorothy (Lee) Engle. As a young girl, her family moved to Newkirk, Oklahoma, where she attended school.

On March 6, 1956, she married Alfred Eugene Frost at Newkirk. After their marriage, they made their home in Oklahoma, moving from Shawnee, Oklahoma to Meade in November of 1999. She was a homemaker and had also worked at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home for several years.

She enjoyed camping, making crafts, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Chris Frost and wife Cindy of Meade, Kansas, and Jeff Frost and wife Roberta of Lane, Oklahoma; a daughter, Rhonda Weston of Apache, Oklahoma; a brother, Dean Engle of Blackwell, Oklahoma; a sister, Darlene Roberts of Blanchard, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband on December 29, 2008; a son-in-law, Chuck Weston; four brothers, Leonard, Vernon, Larry and Jack Engle; and three sisters, Vivian Smith, Judy Lowery, and Linda Middleton.

In accordance to her wishes, cremation has taken place with private family interment in Graceland Cemetery, Meade, to be held at a later date.

The family would welcome memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
