Wanda Arlene Rundell, 97, died, Oct 6, 2014 at her residence in Liberal Springs in Liberal, KS.
She was born January 7, 1917 in Seneca County, New York, the daughter of James Burton and Alice (Bird) Irland. She graduated from High School at Romulus, New York in 1935. She moved to Liberal in 1943 from New York and became a resident of Liberal Springs in 2005.
She was employed as a sales clerk for the Burr Company, Grisiers, Mode O Day and Furniture Mart.
She painted ceramics for many years and worked with teachers to provide coats, glasses and other necessities to students in need. She had a special way of taking in friends and making them family.
On July 28, 1940, she married Roger Rundell in New York City, New York. He died July 14, 2004.
Survivors include:
Several Nieces and Nephews including Gale Irland and wife Sue of Texas and Nancy Fabrize of New York.
Many Great Nieces and Nephews.
Special Friends Marlin and Dorothy Meisenheimer of Liberal, KS,
Angela Schaffer and daughter, Ziah of Liberal, KS and Aaron Schaffer of Guthrie, OK.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 3 Sisters.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 10, 2014 at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Prater and Denny Cox presiding. Burial will be held in Liberal Cemetery.
Visitation will be 9 am to 8 pm Thursday and 9 am until service time on Friday at Brenneman Funeral Home.
