Vivian Marie Tennis, age 92, passed away early Tuesday Morning, March 3, 2020, at the Fowler Residential Care Center, Fowler, Kansas.

She was born September 10, 1927, at Altoona, Kansas, the daughter of Teddy Delloyd and Carrie Myrtle (Bolin) Billbe.  As a young girl, she attended school in Vilas, Kansas, graduating from Vilas High School in 1945.

On April 7, 1957, she married Dean Edward Tennis at her aunt Ruth’s home in Satanta, Kansas.  After their marriage the couple made their home in Hugoton.  While in Hugoton, she worked at the Hugoton Hospital for several years.  In 1980, the couple moved to Meade and continued to raise their family here.

She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, working crossword puzzles, softball, bowling, and seeing her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She is survived by her husband Dean Tennis of Meade; two sons, James Tennis of Rose Hill, Kansas, and Brent Tennis and wife Gigi of Henderson, Texas; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Heinson; three sons, Kent Tennis, Ronald Smith, and Richard Smith; five brothers, Paul Billbe, Junior Billbe, Edward Billbe, Melvin Billbe, and Rox Billbe; and three sisters, Thelma  Billbe, Ina Billbe, and Ella Billbe.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.

The family would welcome memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of the funeral home.
