Vernon Everett Ralston

Vernon Everett Ralston, 96, passed away Sept.23, 2015 in Canal Fulton, Ohio.
He was born in Pratt, Kansas, March 18, 1919 to Walter and Florence Ralston. He was one of nineteen children.
Vernon married Wanda Hague March 24, 1940, making their home in Liberal, KS. Wanda preceded him in death in 2004.
Vernon worked for the Rock Island Railroad and retired after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Church of God and was a Boy Scout leader for many years. He was a friend to all he met and was cherished by his family.
He is survived by brothers Roy Ralston and Dean Norris, sisters Wanda Fagin and Elda Barker, his four children, Marilyn Gabbard, Vernon A. Ralston, Robert Ralston and Beverly Olson and fourteen grandchildren, thirty eight great grandchildren and nine great, great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three grandsons; Brian Ralston, Kelly Ralston, and Larry McCroskey and 2 great, great grandchildren.
Viewing will be Friday, Oct. 2, 2015 from 12:00 noon – 8:00 p.m. at Miller Mortuary.
Funeral services will be Sat. Oct. 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the South Church of God. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Mercy Medical Hospice, 4369 Whipple Ave. N.W., Canton, Oh 44718 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
