Vernon Eugene “Gene” Watson

Vernon Eugene “Gene” Watson, 69 died December 19, 2015 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, KS. He was born November 11, 1946 in Garden City, KS the son of George and Nellie (Lumblade) Watson. He attended Garden City High School, Garden City, KS.
He worked in the Maintenance Department at National Beef Packing Plant in Liberal. He worked for Envision in Greeley CO. He was an avid Broncos Fan and enjoyed collecting knives, models cars, working crossword puzzles. He loved his dog Missy. On July 7, 2006 he married Sheila Marie Avers in Liberal, KS. They were together for 26 years. She died April 19, 2012.

He was preceded in death by parents 1 Daughter Alicea Sperstad and 1 Brother Walter Watson.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Kitty Lum presiding. Burial will be in Liberal Cemetery.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to Noon Thursday and 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Brenneman Funeral Home.
