Vera L. Brimer

Vera L. Brimer, age 91, passed away early Monday morning, May 10, 2021, at the Fowler Residential Care Center, Fowler, Kansas.
She was born April 10, 1930, at Rankin, Oklahoma, the daughter of Louis and Katie (Hoffman) Miesner. As a young girl she attended school in Midway, Oklahoma, and later graduated from Sayer High School. After her graduation, she began working at the local feed store. She later went to work as a teller at the City National Bank before working in the county treasures office for over twenty years.
She was a member of the Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, the Altar Society, the VFW Auxiliary, and was a founder of the Heartland Shares Foundation. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and spending time with her family and friends.
On July 18, 1951, she married Preston Arley Brimer at Sayer, Oklahoma. He precedes her in death on September 3, 1981.
She is survived by a son, Bob Brimer of Meade, Kansas; six grandchildren, Vonda Tapp (Will) of Boise City, Oklahoma, Audria Hanzlik (David) of Wilson, Kansas, Luke Benton of Marble Falls, Texas, Raeanne Winter of Liberal, Kansas, Cooper Brimer of Perryton, Texas, and Dalton Brimer (Brenna) of Lance Creek, Wyoming; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband; a son, Jimmy Brimer; parents; two brothers, Ernest and Louis; and five sisters, Anna Mae, Gertrude, Mildred, Katherine, and Helen Louise.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2021, at the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Oklahoma. The family will gather at the Queen of All Saints Catholic Church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. to received friends. Burial will follow the service in the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery.
The family would welcome memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, Kansas.
