Vaughn Edward Delaney

Vaughn Edward Delaney, known as “Bone”, passed away on December 7, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas. He was the son of Raymond Earl and Nila Irene (Waln) Delaney, born on September 15, 1963, in Barstow, California.
Vaughn and Mary JoAnn Phillips were married on February 14, 1998 in Branson, Missouri.
Vaughn was a fun-loving man with a vivacious spirit, known for his vibrant personality and the joy he brought to those around him. He adored his children, grandchildren, and great grandchild, often teasing family and friends, making every moment spent together an occasion for laughter. His character was characterized by warmth and a sense of humor that endeared him to many.
He had a variety of interests that filled his days with joy, including gardening, fishing, and hunting. These hobbies reflected his appreciation for nature and the outdoors, and they provided him with countless memorable experiences.
Vaughn is survived by his devoted wife, JoAnn Delaney of Borger, Texas; three sons, Brandon Williams and wife Evelyne, Arkansas City, Kansas, Anthony Williams of Borger, Texas, and Christopher Williams of the Philippines; and a daughter, Kendra Williams of Indiana. He also leaves behind his loving mother, Nila Delaney; two brothers, Raymond Delaney Jr. and John Delaney; and a sister, Nancy Fjield-Delaney, all of Barstow, California. His legacy continues through his ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who all carry forward the love he shared with them.
In addition, Vaughn is survived by his mother-in-law, Mary Phillips; brother-in-law, Martin Phillips and wife Sherry, all of Hugoton, Kansas; as well as sisters-in-law Neva Leonard and husband Michael of Liberal, Kansas, and Sandra Strickland and husband Aaron of Borger, Texas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will forever remember the impact he had on their lives.
Vaughn is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Delaney, a sister, Pearl; a brother, Wayne; and a father-in-law, Stanley Phillips.

Visitation will be held on December 12, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Robson Funeral Home in Hugoton, Kansas.
A funeral service will be held on December 13, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the Assembly of God Church in Hugoton, following with a burial at Hugoton Cemetery, Hugoton, Kansas.
Vaughn Edward Delaney will be remembered fondly for his love of family, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering spirit. As we gather to honor his life, we celebrate the memories created and the love shared that will forever remain in our hearts.
