Ty Van Wasson

Ty Van Wasson, age 33, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Wichita, Kansas.

He was born March 30, 1991, at Meade, Kansas, the son of Barry and Deanna (Wallis) Wasson. As a young boy, he attended school in Meade and was a member of the class of 2010.

He enjoyed fishing, snow skiing, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his parents, Barry and Deanna Wasson of Meade; a brother, Daniel McAtee of Meade; paternal grandmother, Phyllis Wasson of Meade; maternal grandfather, Don Schlichting of Meade; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Chester Wasson; maternal grandmother, Pat Schlichting; and paternal grandfather, Danny Wallis.

A celebration of Ty’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church with interment to follow in the Graceland Cemetery, both of Meade.

The family would welcome memorials to the Ty Wasson Memorial for Substance Abuse and Mental Health in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
