Thomas Jerry Shoemaker, 78, died Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Kansas Medical Center in Andover, KS.
Tom was born February 9, 1936 at Liberal, KS the son of Howard Lander and Esther Cora (Richardson) Shoemaker.
He married Naomi Faye Denton March 14, 1955 at Liberal, KS. She preceded him in death in 2013.
Tom retired from Seward County on Oct 1, 1994 where he was the Road and Bridge Dept. Superintendent for many years. He was a lifelong resident of Liberal, KS and enjoyed building and driving antique Ford automobiles from the Model A to the Mustangs. He and his beloved wife Faye were members of the Western Ave. Church of Christ in Liberal, KS.
His survivors include three Sons- Jerry Shoemaker and wife Karen of Fairfield, TX, Todd Shoemaker of Odessa, TX; Bart Shoemaker and wife Jacque of Kyle, TX; Daughter- Peggy Davis and husband Dennis of Moscow, KS; Seven Grandchildren and Six Great Grandchildren. Three Brothers – Robert Lander Shoemaker and wife Betty of Big Bow, KS; Ted P. Shoemaker of LaClede, IL; Stanley Roger Shoemaker and wife Janie of Conroe, TX; One Sister – Mary Helen Smith of Pampa, TX.
Visitation will be Tuesday July 15, 2014 from 12:00 -8:00 pm at Miller Mortuary with the family present to receive friends from 6-8pm.
Graveside Service will be Wednesday July 16, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Liberal City Cemetery with David Pearce officiating.
The family suggests memorials to the Western Ave.Church of Christ in care of Miller Mortuary.
