Thomas Franklin Boles

Thomas Franklin Boles, age 88, of Pottsboro, Texas passed away late Friday evening August 5, 2011 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas .

Mr. Boles was born May 12, 1923 in Liberal, Kansas , the son of Franklin and Katie (Dudley) Boles. As a young boy, he attended school in Liberal, Kansas. He graduated from Liberal High School , attended Kemper Military School and later was drafted to serve in the United States Army during WWII. He served in WWII in the European Theaters and Southeast Pacific. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service during these life defining years as a member of the 343rd Regiment of the 86th (Blackhawk) Division. He was honorably discharged in 1945.

Tom established Boles Financial Center in 1946 in Liberal, Kansas and was a certified financial planner. He helped the financial lives of his clients for years until his retirement. Thomas was also a commercial pilot and loved flying. He directed the Peoples National Bank of Liberal, Kansas for 35 years. Tom was a Mason and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he once served as an elder. He later worshiped at the First Baptist Church in Pottsboro, Texas . He was also active in Rotary International, The Boys Scouts of America, The American Legion, Elks Lodge and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Tom is survived by his loving family, wife, Ann Ell Boles of Pottsboro, Texas, son, Frank Boles, son, Grady Boles and wife, Anne-Marie and their son, Camden all of Boulder, Colorado
step-children, Dr. Hunter Richmond of Denison, Texas and his children, Brandon Richmond of Lewisville , Kentucky and Kelly Richmond of Dallas, Texas and Valerie Fleeger and husband, Matthew and their son, Dalton all of Dallas, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Elva Boles and two sisters, Helen Boles Pittman and Jean Boles Killion.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church in Liberal, Kansas with Pastor Steve Saville officiating. Masonic Rites will be given by Fargo Lodge #300 AF & AM.

Burial will follow in Midway Cemetery in Floris, Oklahoma with Military Honors will be given by the American Legion Lane Day Post #80.

Visitation time will be 1pm until service time Sunday at the church.
