Terry Tarrant: UPDATE

Terry Lee Tarrant, DDS, 83, of Clairmore, Oklahoma passed away December 17, 2012 at Hillcrest South Hospital in Tulsa.
Terry was born to Roy and Merle Tattu Tarrant in Los Angeles, California on April 3, 1929.
Terry graduated Hooker High School with the class of 1947. He immediately joined the Navy serving honorable from 1947 to 1950. He then received his Bachelors of Science degree from Panhandle State College in Goodwell, Oklahoma. After graduation, he worked at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. There he met and married Miss Amy Jensen. Together they had two children, John and Kristi.
Terry then attended Dental School at Loyala University of Chicago, Illinois. After school, he returned to Hooker and practiced dentistry. In January 1969, he was united in marriage to Dessia Matkin. Retiring in 2006, they moved to Clairmore, Oklahoma.
He was a member of the Hooker United Methodist Church, the Hooker Lions Club, and the American Dental Association. He was an avid runner and enjoyed participating in 5ks.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents, he wife Dessia, and his grandson John Christopher Weber.
Survivors include one son, John Tarrent and his wife Angela of Pueblo, Colorado, three daughters, Mary Jo Matkin and Marshia Weber both of Clairmore, Oklahoma, and Kristie Gaye Tarrant of Washington State. Four grandchildren, Katherine Elizabeth Tarrant, Mattison Weber, Shane, and Jake.
Graveside services will be held Friday, December 21, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Hooker Cemetery Hooker, Oklahoma, with Rev. Les Bussel officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to Meals-On-Wheels or the United Methodist Church and may be given to Roberts Brothers Funeral Home P.O. Box 745 Hooker, Oklahoma, 73945.
