Terry Lee Batterton

Terry Lee Batterton, age 65, of Manter, Kansas, died Wednesday, June 23, 2021, in Morton County, Kansas. He was born June 19, 1956, in Ulysses, Kansas, the son of Lloyd Edgar and Wanda (Herron) Batterton.

Terry grew up in Johnson and graduated high school in 1974. He continued his education in Diesel Mechanics at Liberal Vo-Tech. Terry married Esther Leighty and together they raised their three daughters. Terry enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandkids, nieces and nephews. He was as a father figure to many children.

Terry is survived by his wife, Esther Batterton; daughters, Tara Spelts and husband Bryan of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, Sheena Batterton of Garden City, Kansas, and Megan Baker and husband Josh of Garden City, Kansas; mother, Wanda Batterton of Johnson, Kansas; sister, Charlene Walker and husband Larry of Buena Vista, Colorado; brothers, Tom Batterton and wife Christina of Big Spring, Texas, and Ron Batterton and wife Pam of Holly, Colorado; aunt, Donice Wilkerson of Johnson, Kansas; four grandchildren, Angelina, Aiden, Ajourney, and Skylee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Terry is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd; and many aunts and uncles.

Graveside service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, June 28, 2021, at Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson. The service will also be live streamed on Garnand Funeral Home Face book page. Visitation is Sunday, June 27, 2021, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
