Ted Shoemaker

Ted Shoemaker, age 49, of Ulysses, Kansas died Thursday, May 12, 2011 in Finney County, Kansas. He was born November 30, 1961 in Liberal, Kansas, the son of Ted and Kay (Rader) Shoemaker.

Ted grew up in Ulysses. He worked in the oil field and also did construction work. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.

He is survived by one son, Scott Shoemaker of Ulysses, Kansas; two daughters, Amanda Keaton of Ulysses, Kansas, Brandy Shoemaker of Kansas City, Kansas; father, Ted Shoemaker of Edgewood, Illinois; mother, Kay Shoemaker of Ulysses, Kansas; one brother, Donnie Shoemaker of Guymon, Oklahoma; three sisters, Pam Karnes of Natural Dam, Arkansas, Brenda Manuel of Edgewood, Illinois, Jan Seibert of Garden City, Kansas; and five grandchildren.

Ted was preceded in death by his son, Ian Shoemaker.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Ulysses Mennonite Brethren Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Ted Goertzen officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, May 16, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
