Steven Ray Paris, age 59, passed away Friday morning, September 16, 2022, at the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas.
He was born May 26, 1963, at Clayton, New Mexico, the son of Charlie Ray and Mina Arlene (Blosser) Paris. As a young boy he attended school in several locations, including Southwestern Heights High School and graduating from Ulysses High School. He later attended Colby Community College for a year before beginning his career as a cowboy and then later to truck driver for many years.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, team roping, horses, coyote hunting, and spending time with his family and friends.
On March 4, 1989, he married Janet Ann Bond at Liberal, Kansas. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Jace Paris of Liberal, and Lane Paris and wife Bobbie of Liberal; his mother, Arlene Paris of Farley, New Mexico; a brother, Michael Paris and wife Kim of Purdon, Texas; a sister, Cherrye Paris of Dalhart, Texas; a brother-in-law, Kurtis Bond and wife Tami of Wichita, Kansas; a sister-in-law Pennie Rutherford and husband Burrelof Senora, Texas; an adopted granddaughter, Willow nine nieces and nephews, Sarah, Melanie, Cody, Audrey, Austin, Tripper, Levi, Cade, and Rachel; and several great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father; grandparents; and a nephew Stormy.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the Plains Friends Church, Plains. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 with the family present from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Interment will follow in the Plains Cemetery.
The family would welcome memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.
