Steve Anderson: UPDATE

Steve Anderson, age 61, of Ulysses, Kansas died Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born January 4, 1953, at home, in Ulysses, Kansas, the son of Harold and Libby Marie (Thornton) Anderson.

Steve was a lifelong resident of Ulysses. He graduated from Ulysses High School in 1971. He married Rhonda Binney on March 10, 1971 in Ulysses. He was co-owner and shop manager of Anderson Motor Company. Steve was a member of the Shelton Memorial Christian Church, and a longtime member of the Ulysses Lions Club. He enjoyed traveling on motorcycles, hunting, and collected coins, antiques and gambling memorabilia.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda of their home; son, Justin Anderson and wife Angela of Ulysses, Kansas; daughter, Jeri Lynn Wells and husband Brad of Ulysses, Kansas; brothers, Jim Anderson and wife Wilma of Ulysses, Kansas, Leon Anderson and wife Gloria of St. Louis, Missouri, Bill Anderson of Ulysses, Kansas; sister, Patty Craft and husband Ron of Ulysses, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Libby Hickman, Russell Wells, Zane Anderson, Zak Anderson, Aaron Anguiano, Juan Anguiano, Lilly Anguiano, Drake Anguiano; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Steve is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jerry Anderson.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 10, 2014 at the Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Reverend Kelly Gindlesberger and Chris Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to DuGood Events or Steve Anderson Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
