Stanley W. Wagner, a cherished husband, dedicated father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend, died on Sunday, April 14,2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever be remembered by all who knew him.
He was born on February 11, 1946, the son of Harry and Viola (Wheaton) Wagner in Concordia, Kansas., Stanley’s proudest accomplishments included owning and operating the last full-service station in Liberal, Kansas. It was here that he touched the lives of many in the community with his hard work and dedication. Stanley’s passion for car races, water skiing, and snow skiing brought him immense joy throughout his life. He was also known for his craftsmanship in creating beautiful wood items for his children and grandchildren, a skill that showcased his creativity and love for his family.
Stanley W. Wagner served his country with honor during the Vietnam War. His commitment to duty and his fellow servicemen reflected the true essence of his character.
He was a proud member of the VFW and found joy in supporting his favorite team as a dedicated Chiefs fan. His love for sports brought him together with friends and family alike, creating lasting memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Brother-in-law,
Greg Greenwald.
He was preceded in death by

Maryalice Futrell,
Father and mother-in-law,
Harold and Wanda Greenwald, and
Brother-in-law, Earshel Futrell.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home. The Family will be present to greet friends.
The funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Emanuel Southern Baptist Church, 1550 N. Western Avenue, Liberal, Kansas. Pastor Kade Carpenter will be presiding.
Burial to follow at Liberal Cemetery.
The family suggests Memorial Donations go to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Liberal Animal Shelter in care of Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.
