Stanley Howe

Stanley Howe, age 80, of Elkhart, Kansas died Monday, February 1, 2016, at his daughter’s home in Elkhart, Kansas. He was born August 15, 1935 in Guthrie, Oklahoma the son of Alton La Vada and Billie Ernestine (Clymer) Howe.
Stanley graduated school in Guthrie, Oklahoma. After school he served in the United States Navy from March 1954 until November 1958. He married Naomi Mott in and they later divorced in 1995. Stanley worked as a shipping manager for a greenhouse in Guthrie that supplied plants and flowers for FTD. He worked as a plant manager for Colorado Interstate Gas in Elkhart, and retired as a security guard after 14 years in Denver. Stanley enjoyed woodworking, fishing, watching football and baseball and coin collecting.
Survivors include sons, Mark Howe and fiancé Jada Hamilton of Dodge City, Kansas, Kelly Howe and wife Emily of Elkhart, Kansas; daughter, Teresa Carlile and husband Bill of Elkhart, Kansas; sisters, Shirley Neuman and husband Cye of Edmond, Oklahoma, Willa Jean Kortright of Guthrie, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jerry Howe, and brother-in-law, John Kortright.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 5, 2016, at the Church of the Nazarene in Elkhart with Pastor Keith Davis officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Navy Military Funeral Honors Detail. Friends may call on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
