Solia Marie Guaderrama

Solia Marie Guaderrama, age 64, of Ulysses, Kansas died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born November 25, 1948 in Brownfield, Texas, the daughter of Manuel and Eufrasia (Morin) Guerra.
Solia grew up in Brownfield, Texas. She moved to Ulysses, Kansas 39 years ago. She worked at Columbian Chemicals, Dart-In Convenience Store and in 1986 opened Alejandro’s Mexican Restaurant. Solia was a member and served on the board of Grant County Chamber of Commerce, and was a member of Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She loved working at Alejandro’s, and traveling; especially to the lake to go fishing.
She is survived by her children, Betty Delgado of Ulysses, Kansas, Manuel Scott of Dallas, Texas, and Willie Meza of Ulysses, Kansas; step-children, Jesus Guaderrama, Joel Guaderrama, and Yari Guaderrama all of Ulysses, Kansas; siblings, Enrique Guerra of San Antonio, Texas, Felecita Guerra Silva of Garciasville, Texas, and Irma Meza of Ulysses, Kansas; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Solia is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Agruelio Guerra; and sister, Lydia Herrera.
Rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Reverend Peter Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 and from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association or Gideon International both in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
