Shirley Mae Gover

Shirley Mae Gover, age 86, passed away peacefully Monday morning, December 20, 2021, at the Ozark Nursing and Care Center, in Ozark, Missouri. She was born October 28, 1935, in Hooker, Oklahoma, to Harvey and Erna Anna Marie Finfrock. She grew up in Hooker, Oklahoma and then lived most of her adult life in Liberal, Kansas. Shirley graduated from Hooker, Oklahoma High School in 1953.

Shirley married Kent Gover in Liberal, Kansas on May 27, 1978. They enjoyed a beautiful life together doing many things, including collecting antiques and fixing them up to sell and give to family. Shirley enjoyed many crafts including making quilts and quilted hangers. She said her factory was always open and enjoyed giving away her creations. She enjoyed spending time with family. That was her favorite thing to do. Shirley was a very generous and loving person who will be missed by her family and friends.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Kent Gover of Liberal, Kansas,

her three sons, Corlin Pratt, Darren Pratt (Shannon) and Shan Pratt (Cheri). She also is survived by her stepchildren Lynn Volden (Stan), Troy Gover (Kathy), and Brad Gover (Carleen). Shirley had 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many other caring relatives.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bob Finfrock, and one granddaughter, Chanelle Pratt.

Memorial Services will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas. Pastor Rex Petty presiding.

A private family inurnment will take place at the GreenlawnCemetery in Pratt, Kansas at a later date.
