Shirley Jean Keener, 80, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022, in Satanta, Kansas.

The daughter of Oscar and Irene Gertrude (Inman) and she was born on January 22, 1942, in Mullinville, Kansas.

Shirley and John Edward Keener were married on June 25, 1960, in Mullinville, Kansas. They were married 54 years and he preceded her in death on June 19, 2014. To this union were three daughters Caren, Carmen, and Carla.

Shirley was a member of the United Methodist Church of Satanta. Shirley was a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha for over 50 years.

She loved and enjoyed her children and grandchildren. Shirley was a daycare provider for a lot of children in Satanta. She was an avid Kansas Jayhawk fan and enjoyed watching college basketball and football. Her hobbies were yard work and flowers.

Survivors include two daughters, Caren Willis and husband Terry, Blanchard, OK., Carmen Keener, Satanta, KS.; a brother, Sheldon Woolrey and wife Nancy, Princeton, KS.; a sister, Bonita Grahman and husband Roger, Wichita, KS.; five grandchildren, Jarid Spain, Janna Anderson, Brendan Pankey, Braden Pankey, and Sydney Larkins; five great-grandchildren, Kambreigh, Abby, Gabriel, Brantley, and Remi.

She was preceded by her parents; daughter, Carla Darbro; brothers, Glenn, Max, and David.

A memorial has been established for the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. In the care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 747, Satanta, KS 67870.

The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 10 AM, at United Methodist Church, Satanta, Kansas. Burial to follow at Dudley Township Cemetery, Satanta, Kansas.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022, from 10 AM to 6 PM at Robson Funeral Home, Satanta.

Robson Funeral Home, Satanta is overseeing the arrangements.
