Shirley Ann Harbour, age 73, died Thursday, October 22, 2020, at The Medical Center of Aurora in Aurora, Colorado. She was born June 30, 1947, in Sedalia, Missouri, the daughter of Sherman and Dorothy (Peebles) Morlen.
Shirley completed high school and attended cosmetology school. She married Jim Harbour on July 7, 1967, in Liberal, Kansas. Shirley was a hair stylist at Chat & Curl and Company for many years and made many life-long friends. She was an active member of Country View Baptist Church in Ulysses. Shirley treasured her children and most of all, her grandchildren. She loved her role as grandma and embraced every moment with them. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh and feel comforted and loved.
Shirley is survived by one son, Douglas Harbour and wife Leslie of Ulysses; daughter, Lisa Weibel and husband, Nathan of Eaton, Colorado; father, Sherman Morlen of Liberal; three brothers, Mike Morlen and wife Pat of Liberal, Sam Morlen and wife Cathy of Longview, Texas, James Morlen of Garden City; sister, Cathie McGhee of Liberal; brother-in-law, Larry Vanburen of Liberal; and four grandchildren, Addi, Keaton, Talen, and Aubree.
Shirley is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy; husband, Jim in 2008; and one sister, Donna Vanburen.
Funeral service will be Thursday, October 29, 2020, at 10:00 AM at the Country View Baptist Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Pastor James Berry officiating. The family would appreciate everyone in attendance to wear a face mask. The service may also be viewed live on Garnand Funeral Home Facebook Page. Interment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, October 28, 2020, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
