Shelly Dawn Shapland, 54 years old, passed away April 11, 2021, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born May 21, 1966, the daughter of Clarence and Gloria Jean (Long) Hagan.
“This Too Shall Pass” “Forever & Always” “I Love You More”
She was fierce, the kind of woman who no matter what, stood her ground. She was a fighter, an old soul, the type that you couldn’t help but love. She wasn’t perfect and never claimed to be. When she loved, she loved with her whole heart. You were a “Lucky One” if she ever told you she loved you, not everyone, but most got that from her.
There wasn’t a day that she didn’t tell her kids and grandbabies that she loved them or many times she’d say, “I love you more”.
She had a smile that drew people in, and a laugh that calmed the darkest days.
Her life was well lived, though it wasn’t easy the last few years, she still smiled through the pain and would say, “This too shall pass”, even if it hurt like heck, like we said, she was a fighter til the end.
“If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever”. A.A. Milne
