Sharon May Kessler, age 65, of Fowler, Kansas passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025.

She was born on November 17, 1959, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Robert and Zola Kessler. As a child she also resided in Blackwell, Oklahoma and Valley Center, Kansas.

Sharon was a longtime resident of Liberal, Kansas where she was a graduate of Liberal High School.

As a teenager Sharon enjoyed playing softball and was very talented in this sport. One of Sharon’s favorite hobbies was fishing; she enjoyed many fishing expeditions with various family members throughout her lifetime. She spent many hours crocheting and gave many of the completed projects as gifts. She enjoyed sitting at the piano and playing a made-up tune. Singing, trips to the Lee Richardson Zoo, watching the Thanksgiving Day parade, entering exhibits to the 5 State Fair, and being outside were some of her cherished activities.

Sharon’s lifelong love of cats was evident as she was the proud owner of several throughout her life. She enjoyed taking care of them with love and devotion. She also enjoyed friendships with many who have passed before her. Sharon attended the South Church of God for many years.

She was beloved by her family and those that knew her.

She is survived by her father, Robert Kessler of Liberal, Kansas,

Brother, Kevin Kessler and his wife, Colleen of Liberal, Kansas,

Sisters, Karen Small of Liberal, Kansas, and

Robin Witzke and her husband, Bill of Holcomb, Kansas,

Nine nieces and nephews; Tyson Small, Brittany Ranasinghe (Kaveen), Ryan Witzke (MacKenzie), Madison Thompson (Jaron), Kaden Kessler (Lindsey), Courtney Moore (Dylan), Cristyn Kessler (Shane), Cathryn Kessler, and Cayleigh Kessler.

Also, great nieces and nephews: Opal Mac Thompson, Rawlin Wayne Kessler, Liberty Zola Kessler, Krishantha Sahan Ranasinghe, and Arlo Alan Jay Moore.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Zola Kessler.

A Private Family Graveside Services will be held at the Liberal Cemetery.
