Sharon Kay Johns

Sharon Kay Johns, age 76, died February 25, 2023, on her own terms at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, Kansas.

She was born on September 11, 1946 to Leonard and Mary Rist in Dodge City, Kansas. She claimed the distinction of a “World War II baby”. Sharon was one of five children. She married at a young age to Gary Snodgrass. Together they raised five children, Joey, David, Tammy, Linda, and Brenda, including a set of identical twins, which ran in her family. Sharon later divorced and married Wayne Allen Johns. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2004. Sharon loved to reminisce over coffee and playing games on her computer. Sharon will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Rist; three sisters, Vivian Hesket, Donna Barnes and Sue Duggan all of Missouri; son, David of California; daughters, Linda Acosta and husband, Ramone, of Liberal and Brenda Booth and husband, Laban of Liberal; eight grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild

Sharon was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy, son, Joey, brother, Ronald Rist, and father Leonard Rist.

A private Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
