Sara D. Reimer

Sara D. Reimer, age 83, died late Monday evening, March 31, 2016, at the Lone Tree Retirement Center, Meade, Kansas.
She was born September 10, 1932, at Meade, Kansas, the daughter of John B. and Margaret P. (Doerksen) Bartel. As a young girl, she attended the McNaulty Grade School in rural Meade County. A lifetime resident of Meade, she was was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, participating in the ladies sewing society and the foods committee. She enjoyed baking, in particular, cinnamon rolls, embroidery, and housekeeping.
On April 1, 1978, she married Henry M. Reimer at Meade. He precedes her in death on May 7, 1998.
She is survived by:
Four stepsons, Lawrence Reimer of Wichita, Kansas
Alan Reimer of Wichita, Kansas
Ron Reimer of Ireland
Ken Reimer of Indiana
Two sisters, Margaret Bartel of Meade, Kansas
Marie Bryant of Pratt, Kansas
Five step-grandchildren
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and three brothers, John C., George D., and Dick D. Bartel.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow the services in the Emmanuel Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Meade.
In lieu of flowers the family would welcome memorials to the Mennonite Central Committee or the Lone Tree Retirement Center Van Fund in care of the funeral home.
