Sally Beth Malone, age 76, of Ulysses, Kansas died Saturday, June 4, 2011 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born September 15, 1934 in Garden City, Kansas, the daughter of Cleve and Marian (Temple) Stoskopf.
Sally moved to Ulysses with her family when she was in the 6th grade. Sally was a graduate of Ulysses High School. She attended Panhandle State University where she earned her degree in Education with a minor in History. Sally taught at Morris Chapel, Red Rock Elementary and 6th grade for USD #214. Sally was also the bookkeeper for Malone Enterprise. Sally was a member of Shelton Memorial Christian Church where she played the piano, was the Choir Director, and was active with the Sweet Adelines and the Awesome Kid’s Choir. She also served as the Announcer for the Ulysses Swim meets for over forty years. Sally was a former member of the Ulysses Junior Civic club. In her spare time, Sally enjoyed reading, writing, playing the piano, and was an avid knitter, as she made many prayer shawls and afghans for each of her family members and many friends.
Sally married Dewayne Malone on December 21, 1952 in Ulysses, Kansas. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons; Scott Malone and wife Jean, Craig Malone and wife Mary Kay, all of Ulysses, KS, thirteen grandchildren and ten Great-Grandchildren.
Sally is preceded in death by her parents, two sons; Kirk Malone and Mark Malone, one brother; Cleve Stoskopf, Jr.,
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Reverend Bill Harrold and Pastor Kelly Gindlesberger officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home, Ulysses, Kansas.
