Ruth I. Ramsey UPDATE

Ruth Irene (Clifford) Ramsey, age 96, passed away early Saturday morning, January 6, 2018, at the Lone Tree Retirement Center in Meade, Kansas.
 
She was born August 18, 1921, at Mullinville, Kansas, third in a family of 14 siblings, the daughter of William Joseph and Elva (Summers) Clifford.  As a young girl, she attended Mullinville Grade School, graduated from Mullinville High School in 1940.  After her graduation, the family moved to Plains, Kansas.
 
On July 3, 1946, she married Craig A. Ramsey at Meade.  After marriage, Ruth and Craig were lifelong residents of Plains where they maintained a home to raise and enjoy their three children Betty, Judy and Craig and their grandchildren.
 
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Plains and worked at various businesses.  She enjoyed cross stitching, quilting, working crossword puzzles, spending time with her family and friends.  Ruth took great pride in the care of her home and family.
 
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Lee Richie of Lenexa, Kansas; a son, Craig R. Ramsey and wife, Barbara of Overland Park, Kansas; two brothers, Eldon Clifford and wife, Katie of Las Vegas, Nevada and Ralph Clifford and wife, Betty of Neosho, Missouri; two sisters, Thelma Colleen Harris and husband, Elgin of Bixby, Oklahoma and Kaye Deyo and husband, Don of Monument, Colorado; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband Craig on December 14, 1997; an infant daughter, a daughter, Judy Conway, a granddaughter, Lisa Kelly, her parents; four brothers; five sisters, a son-in-law Gene Conway and a son-in-law Jim Richie.
 
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Plains United Methodist Church with Reverend Dan Biernacki presiding.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade or from 1:00 p.m. Saturday prior to services. Interment will follow the service in the Plains Cemetery, Plains.
 
The family appreciates the loving care extended by the staff at Lone Tree Retirement Center, Hospice of the Prairie and especially niece Cheri Reiss in caring for Ruth during her final days.  The family welcomes memorials to the Lone Tree Retirement Center, Hospice of the Prairie or the Plains United Methodist Church all in care of the funeral home.
 
Ruth can be remembered as a loving mother, who devoted her life to her home and family.
