Ruth Goff, age 94, formerly of Quinter, Kansas, passed away January 7, 2025, in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born on March 21, 1930, in Greeley, Colorado, to John and Myrtle (Bartrop) Schmidt.
After graduating from high school, she married Raymond Goff on August 21, 1948. She loved cooking and gardening when she was able. She also enjoyed crocheting kitchen towels (I think anyone she met has one) and coloring. She was awesome at putting puzzles together. Ruth also loved watching sports, music, singing and especially singing old hymns.
Ruth is survived by her son, Keith Goff and wife, Kathy of Ulysses, and daughter, Linda Goff-Finley of Garden City. She also has three granddaughters, three great-granddaughters, three great-grandsons, three great-great-granddaughters, one step-granddaughter, two step-great-grandsons, and two step-great-granddaughters.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, grandson Leland Hutchinson (Linda’s son), and three sisters.
Funeral service will be Friday, January 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses, Kansas, and graveside service at 2:00 PM at Baker Township Cemetery in Quinter, Kansas, with Pastor Jon Tuttle officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
