Ruth Ann Mann
Joe Denoyer - May 1, 2022 6:57 pm
Ruth Ann Mann, 63, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Saturday morning, April 30, 2022 at her home in Satanta, Kansas. She was born February 24, 1959 to Alice Agnes (Bayer) and Paul Edward Tatro in Ulysses, Kansas.
Ruth dedicated herself to serving others in various roles including as a cook for USD 507, a CNA/RA at Satanta Long Term Care Unit, Director and cook at the Pride of Life, Owner/Operator of Ruth’s Bakes Shop and Mann’s Popcorn, and most recently, as caregiver to Kyra.
Lee and Ruth were married over her lunch hour 37 years ago at the court house in Seward County. That evening, they attended their first auction and started their ongoing adventure, always in search of the next piece of American Fostoria, stained glass or rare antique. They also enjoyed sitting outside on the back porch and watching the humming birds and purple martins come and go. Ruth was a no-frills force of nature.
A lifelong caregiver, Ruth was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Ruth’s most passionate roll in life was being a mother. She always put her children first. Ruth was a rock for her children, never missing the birth of a grandchild, an opportunity to fill their bellies or a chance to be surrounded by her family. Her children and her grandchildren were her true treasures.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Robert Lee Mann, Jr. of the home; children, Mark Lozar and wife DeLayna of Turpin, OK, Amy Hale and husband Jeremy of Hays, KS; Lesley Schellenberg and husband Abe of Liberal, KS, and Alison Clark and husband Allen of Hugoton, KS; grandchildren, Christopher, Dakota, Brianna, Remington, Kilee, Trace, Clayton, Cooper, Abel, and Harper; siblings, Charles Tatro and wife Karen of Strafford, MO, Rita Dennis of Guymon, OK, Rose Crum and husband Mike of Sublette, KS, Randy Tatro and wife Lisa of Fowler, KS; and mother-in-law, Roena Brown of Satanta, KS.
