Ruby Pearl Parker

Ruby Pearl Parker, age 82, died Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart , Kansas . She was born December 08, 1928 in Liberal, Kansas the daughter of John Drury and Viola (Kolb) Beck.
Pearl grew up in Liberal and graduated from Liberal High School . A hard worker, Pearl was a secretary for Southwest Public Service and also for a gas and phone company. She married Clyde Brantley in 1945 in Liberal, Kansas ; he died in the late 1970’s. She then married Dillard Parker in 1981 in Elkhart , Kansas ; he died in 1989. She loved to make quilts and shared her talents by teaching classes. She was a member of a local quilting guild. All quilters admired Pearl ’s quilting skills. Pearl was also a long standing member of the Women’s Investment Club. She loved to visit and knew no strangers. Her pride and joy was her grandchildren.
Pearl is survived by one daughter, Leuticia Thompson of Lake Charles, Louisiana; one son-in-law, Lowell Scripter and wife Madelyn of Council Grove, Kansas; one step-son, Randy Parker and wife Peggy of Elkhart, Kansas; one brother, Bill Beck of Liberal, Kansas; eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Cheryl Scripter; grandson, Quint Scripter; and two sisters, Fern Hesston and Jessie Cook.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the First Christian Church with Pastor Jim Cunningham and Pastor Ron Wilson officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 PM at the Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta , Kansas . Friends may call Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart , Kansas .
