Ruby Mae Stevens, 97, of Liberal passed away on Thursday March 10, 2022 at the Wheatridge Care Center.

She was born July 20, 1924 in Domby, OK to James R and Sarah Edna Kulow.

Ruby and Jessie Clifton “JC” Stevens were married on February 18, 1946 at the First Christian Church of Liberal where they resided for the rest of their lives and had been married 64 years. JC preceded her in death on September 10, 2009.

Ruby grew up on a farm in Beaver county Oklahoma and graduated from Turpin high School in 1943 where she was the salutatorian of her class. She then went to American Business college in Wichita in received her certificate for a secretarial course. After returning home she worked at beech aircraft during WWII, where she met her husband who was in the Army Air Corps at the base in Liberal, and they would meet at the fountain everyday at lunch.
JC and Ruby attended the Assembly of God Church and Ruby worked with JC at his business, Liberal Quick Print as bookkeeper. She loved traveling to the Rocky Mountains every summer. Ruby was a dedicated wife and mother to her four children and loved her family more than anything. She loved the Lord and praised Him everyday.

Ruby is survived by daughter Debra (Chris) Miller, Kansas City, MO, son Randy (Kamie) Stevens, Mannford, OK and nephew, James R Kulow lll, Liberal,KS, Grandsons Matthew (Samantha) Cranford, Kansas City, MO
Devin (Gina) Miller, Granddaughters Keara (Jeromy) Harrison, Mannford OK, Brandy (Sebastian) Meeks, Yukon, OK, Denita (Bret) Young, Dodge City, KS, Ashley (Tanner) Williams, Stillwater, OK; five great grand children and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, sons David W Stevens and Larry M Stevens, twin brother James R Kulow, Ralph Kulow, Effie Lindenmuth, Edith Bartel, Ethel Neil, and Orville Kulow.

Viewing will be 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday March 16, 2022 at Miller Mortuary, Liberal, Kansas. The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Thursday March 17, 2022 at the Miller Mortuary Chapel.

Burial will take place in the Liberal City Cemetery.
