Ruby Lorrain Reed

Ruby Lorrain Reed, 98 passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Stevens County Hospital, Hugoton, KS.

Ruby was the daughter of Julien B. and Ruth M. (Terry) Gourdin. She was born on September 24, 1922 in Trinidad, CO.

She and John L. Reed were married on October 26, 1961 at Lordsburg, NM. They moved to Hugoton in 1979 from Tucson, Arizona.

Ruby was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Hugoton.

She loved her children and grandchildren. She loved her dog Abigail. Ruby enjoyed spending time with her family on holidays and special occasions. Her hobbies were coloring, gardening, baking, and cooking

Survivors include four sons, Loney Lee Gourdin and wife Jean, Globe, AZ., Clifford Gourdin, Marana, AZ., William “Bill” John Gourdin, Hugoton, KS., Ray Reed and wife Donna, Amarillo, TX.; brother Julien “Buster” Gourdin, Raton, NM.; sister, Lillian “Sis” Sakarison, Trinidad, CO.; 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Earl “Tiny” Gourdin, three grandsons, Clifford Gourding JR, Eric Gourdin and Roger Colantonio; two sisters, Minnie Mae Valdez and Julia Grinder.

A memorial has been established for Hugoton Animal Shelter. Memorials may be mailed to Robson Funeral Home, PO Box 236, Hugoton, Kansas 67951.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 2 PM at First Christian Church, Hugoton, KS. Burial will be following at Hugoton Cemetery, Hugoton, KS.

Viewing will be Friday, December 5, 2020 from 10 AM to 8 PM at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton. The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.
