Roy G. Stickler

Roy G. Stickler, Jr., age 88, died Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born September 29, 1926 at Turpin, OK, the son of Roy G., Sr. and Nile Geraldine “Bill” (Carson) Stickler.

He was a 1944 graduate of Turpin High School. He served our nation in the U S Army from 1945 – 1946 during the occupation of Japan.

He farmed all his life in Turpin, Oklahoma area. He was a former co-owner of S & S Irrigation in Turpin.

He was a member of Turpin United Methodist Church and a member of the Turpin Senior Center.

On June 12, 1947, he married Betty Jean Davis at Medicine Lodge, KS. She survives.

1 Son- Bruce Stickler and wife Jan of Turpin, OK

1 Daughter – Barbara Myers and husband Neill of Beaver, OK

4 Grandchildren – Chelsea Hendrich and husband Russ of Turpin, OK; Chaunsea Keller and husband Kyle of College Station, TX; Jodi Vega of Lubbock, TX and Josh Myers and wife Elina of Sappulpa, OK

12 Great-Grandchildren

1 Great-Great Grandson

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 Brother, Harry B. Stickler.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at the Turpin United Methodist Church with Pastor Todd Bergman presiding. Burial will follow at Independence Cemetery in rural Turpin.

Visitation will be 1 – 8 pm Wednesday at Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal.

Memorial contributions may be made to Turpin United Methodist Church or the Turpin Senior Center in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
