Roy Coghill

Roy Coghill, age 77, of Ulysses, KS died Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Protection Valley Manor, Protection, KS. He was born November 29, 1938 at Vinita, OK the son of Frank and Mary (Millholland) Coghill.

Roy grew up in California and moved to Ulysses, KS in the 1970’s. Roy worked in road construction. He laid asphalt for Popejoy Construction. Roy loved to play golf, loved his grandkids and loved his dog.

On January 25, 1973 Roy married Wilma Jean Parks at Ulysses, KS. She preceded him in death on June 9, 2011.

Survivors include four sons; Randy Parks and wife Rene of Amarillo, TX, Marty Parks of Ulysses, KS, William Theiss-Coghill of Burnsville, MN and Michael Coghill, four daughters; Teri Sullivan and husband Robert of Pratt, KS, Lori Euliss and husband Rick of Ulysses, KS, Tammy Parks of Lovelady, TX and Aleeah Theiss-Coghill and husband Ed of Bloomington, MN, one brother; John Coghill of Lodi, CA and eighteen grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers; Joe Coghill, Mike Coghill and Thatcher Coghill .

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Shelton Memorial Christian Church, Ulysses, KS with Reverend Kelly Gindlesberger presiding. Burial will follow at Ulysses Cemetery, Ulysses, KS. Friends may call on Sunday and Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Garnand Funeral Home, Ulysses, KS. Family requests memorials be given to the Roy Coghill Memorial fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant, Ulysses, KS 67880.
