Rosie E. Raff UPDATE

Rosie Esther Raff, 90, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Rosie was born December 16, 1921 north of Hooker, Oklahoma, the son of William and Clara Brown Acker.

She was united in marriage to Kenneth Charles Raff in 1938 and he passed away August 15, 1948.

She cooked and waitressed at Maxine’s in Hooker for many years. She moved to Houston then back to Hooker and cooked for the 66 Truck Stop in Guymon. Later moved to Elk City, Oklahoma where she cooked at a friend’s café and took care of her son Charles and granddaughter, Kim. In 1985 she moved back to Hooker and in 2007 to Oklahoma City to be near her children.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting. She loved cooking and caring for her kids. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Hooker, Oklahoma.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Kenneth, son, Charles three brothers, Earl, Edward and Melvin, four sisters, Margie, Opal Gordon, Mary Young and Mable Barnes.

Survivors include her son, Eddie Raff and his wife Donna of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter, Wanda Roles of Tuttle, Oklahoma; one brother, Lloyd Ackers and his wife Delores of Olathe, Kansas; seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Church of Christ in Hooker, Oklahoma with Matt Richardson officiating. Interment will be in the Hooker Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Hooker, Oklahoma.

Memorials are suggested to the Hooker Cemetery Fund and may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Oklahoma.
