Rosetta Jean Ooley

Rosetta Jean Ooley, age 92, died Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Castle Rock, CO. She had been a resident of Castle Rock, CO., since 2010.
Jean was born April 10, 1922 at Harper, KS the daughter of Loyd Clellin and Pearl Mae (Hinds) Chapin. She graduated from Fritch High School in Fritch, TX. She spent her formative years, in many states, including California and Pennsylvania, as her father was a church establishing minister of the Church of Christ. She moved to Liberal when her father took a preaching position in Liberal.
Jean enjoyed sewing and learned of a program that provides little dresses for the children of Haiti. So at the age of 90, she set to work on these and kept very busy sewing 86 colorful dresses as well as 13 handbags for Haitian mothers.
Jean was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and co-owner of KOV, a wholesale automotive parts business, with her husband in Liberal.
On September 28, 1941, she married Richard Gale Ooley in Liberal, KS. He died May 29, 2010.

Barbara Camper and husband Ted Keizer, OR
1 Brother Doyle Chapin Garland, TX
Nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, 1 Brother Thaine Clellin, 2 Sisters Sharon Jean Ooley and June Jones.
Inurnment will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the Liberal Cemetery in Liberal, KS with David Glascock of the Church of Christ, Beaver, OK presiding.
