Ronnie Calvin Swinney, 75, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City, KS.
Ronnie was born to Wesely Alvin and Calvin Mae (Watkins) Swinney on July 20, 1943 in Clarendon, TX. He was a lifetime resident of Stevens County, KS.
Ronnie and Melanie May were married on October 20, 1968 in Denver, CO. They recently celebrated their 50 year anniversary.
He loved and enjoyed being with his family. Ronnie enjoyed golfing and he was a member of the Forewinds Golf Course, Hugoton. Ronnie’s hobbies were yard work, stain glass and loved tinker with the house and cars.
Survivors include wife, Melanie Swinney, Hugoton, KS.; a son, Dustyn Lynn Swinney, Manhattan, KS.; a daughter, Marta Coffin-Swinney, Oceanside, CA.; two brothers, Bob Swinney, Odessa, TX., Don Swinney and wife Connie, Elk City, OK.; brother in law, Glen Hall, Texas; sister in law, Carol Swinney, Hugoton, KS and other relatives and friends.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Karissa Swinney, Thad Swinney; brother, Wendall Swinney and sister, Mary Yvonne Hall.
Memorial has been established for Hugoton High School Golf Program. Memorials may be mailed to Robson Funeral Home, PO Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 1 PM at Hugoton Cemetery, Hugoton, KS.
Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Forewinds Golf Club House, Hugoton, KS.
