Rodger D. Klotz, age 78, passed away early Monday morning, November 15, 2021, at the Meade District Hospital, Meade, Kansas.
He was born October 29, 1943, at Englewood, Kansas, the son of Max and Mary (Butts) Klotz. As a young boy, he attended school in Englewood, graduating from Englewood High School. After his graduation, he began working for the Brookover Feedlot in Garden City, Kansas. He later began his career with the Michigan-Wisconsin Gas Pipeline, working for many years until his retirement.
He enjoyed flying, fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and friends, and was a longtime member of AA.
He married Leatha Crober to which a daughter was born. The couple later divorced. On December 24, 1978, he enter into marriage with Cordelia Ann Dillon, the love of his life at Meade, Kansas. She precedes him in death on January 25, 2009.
He is survived his children, Rodgina Duvall of Kiowa, Kansas, Eugenia Kay Porter and husband, Kenneth of Meade, Robie Blackburn and wife Georgia of Meade, Stacy Blackburn of Stanbeau, Kentucky, and Phillip Blackburn of Hueysville, Kentucky; a brother, Jerry Klotz of Lakin, Kansas; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ann; his parents; three brothers, Raymond, Harold, and Larry Klotz; and a sister, Betty Osburn.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 19, 2021, at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, Meade. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary. Interment will follow in the Englewood Cemetery, Englewood at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
The family would welcome memorials to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
