Roberto Cantu Perez, 66, of Tyrone, OK passed away on Thursday April 25, 2024 at BSA Hospital in Amarillo, TX.
He was born on June 6, 1957 to Ruben Cantu Castillo and Eufemia Perez Pena at Piedras Negras, Coahuila Mexico.
On January 28, 1976 he married Minerva “Minnie” Hernandez Munoz at Coahuila, Mexico.
Roberto worked as a Truck driver for 24 years until his retirement in 2022. His coworkers would call him “Maestro” as he was always guiding and teaching. Roberto loved Texas; where he spent many of his younger years living and farming. Many of his fondest memories were raising chickens and cattle; he always wanted to move back. He enjoyed watching western movies, singing & dancing, working on his cars, attending Texas Rodeos and was a big fan of Lane Frost. Roberto was a bit of a ornery prankster, always making his friends & family laugh. Most of all, he loved helping people and being with his family.
Roberto is survived by his loving wife Minnie Cantu of Tyrone, OK; Four Daughters, Liza Cantu of Tyrone, OK. Angie Mason and husband Trevor of Liberal, KS, Cynthia Cantu and wife Sarah of Liberal, KS, and Sarah Cantu of Liberal, KS; Son, Roberto Cantu, Jr. of Coahuila, Mexico; Three Granddaughters, Nevaeh Dinora Cantu and fiance Keith of Oklahoma City, OK, Naheesha Brielle Cantu of Liberal, KS and Charlotte Brie’lee Cantu of Tyrone, OK.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Daughter, Dinora Cantu, his In-Laws, and his Grand Babies sent to Heaven too soon.
Viewing will be 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday April 30, 2024 at the Miller Mortuary Chapel.
Per Roberto’s wishes, Cremation will follow.
A Celebration of Life may be announced at a later date.
