Robert Shoemaker, 90, Big Bow, Kansas, died Thursday, December 31, 2015, at his residence.
The son of Howard & Esther Cora (Richardson) Shoemaker, he was born February 10, 1925, Liberal, Kansas.
He and Betty Butler were married on December 22, 1946, Liberal, Kansas.
He served in the US Navy from 1942-1946.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Hooker, OK.
Survivors include wife, Betty Shoemaker, Big Bow, KS; four sons, Joe Shoemaker & wife Judy, Lebo, KS, Dan Shoemaker & wife Karen, Ozark, MO, Sam Shoemaker & husband Terry, Alton, IL, John Shoemaker, Big Bow, KS; a daughter, Sherry Thompson & husband Harrold, Ulysses, KS; two brothers, Stanley Shoemaker, Conroe, TX, Ted Shoemaker, IL; a sister, Helen Smith Pampa, TX; 12 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Tom Shoemaker.
A memorial has been established for Masonic Lodge 441 Johnson. Memorials may be mailed to Grant County Funeral Home 218 S. Main St. Ulysses, KS. 67880.
Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at Johnson Cemetery, Johnson, Kansas.
Grant County Funeral Home, Ulysses, is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Monday from 10AM to 8PM at the funeral home.
